Do your thoughts flow better while you are moving? You are not alone. For people who want therapy treatment but don’t like sitting for an hour and people who cherish walking, moving and being outdoors, we offer walk and talk sessions, when weather permits.

How does Walk and Talk Therapy work?

Instead of just sitting and talking about change, let’s move forward – literally!

Many clients find it easier to talk and reflect on their life while walking, or it’s simply more enjoyable than sitting in the office.

Walk & Talk sessions are just like office sessions, except that we are outside enjoying the outdoors and the benefits of physical movement. There is tons of research extolling the benefits of physical movement, not just for your physical health but also for your brain and mental health. Different parts of the brain are accessed while walking, so it can help clients who have felt stuck with traditional therapy find new ways to think about their lives. You will meet at the office with your therapist and leave from there. You will discuss your issues while walking and return to the office a few minutes before the end to make a summary of what you would like to remember from your session.

This is a good option for people with ADHD, physical Anxiety Disorder (movement helps to release anxiety) and for those who sit for many hours at work and want a break from their chair.

Walk and Talk therapy is subject to availability and if a client would like to meet at a specific area there may be an additional fee.
